Hip-hop & salsa events tonight to remember Our Friends the Departed

hi folks, here is an email I got this morning...have a beautiful day. -Suzy

---...---

Hello again dancers,

Two additional opportunities to dance this evening were just announced
last night. Coincidentally they are just across the street from each
other: Draper Rd. next to the Tech campus in Blacksburg.

1 - 9:00 to 10:30 at The Center of Dance 215 Draper Road, a free
healing
through dance, hip-hop class will be taught by Shauntrece Hardrict.
Details in note from Carol Crawford Smith copied below.

2 - 9:30 to 12:00 Salsa Massive. In honor Reema Samaha and Matthew La
Porte the 10:00 first salsa song will be without dancing. This is
SalsaTech's last Salsa Massive of the semester. It starts with half
hour
lesson at 9:30, Oge Chi's, $3 ($2 SalsaTech members.) Details in note
from Brian Murphy below.

Dear VT and Blacksburg Communities,

As we move forward, many recognize dance to be a viable art form for
healing. One leader of our dance community, Shauntrece Hardrict, is
offering an evening of healing through dance on Wednesday, April 25th,
9:00 to 10:30pm. The dance form taught is hip-hop. The class includes a
brief warm up and stretch segment followed by 2 to 3 short combinations
taught by Shauntrece and two other dancers.

The location is The Center of Dance, 215 Draper Road, Upstairs 2nd
Floor
(Corner of College Ave and Draper Road, Diagonally across from
Squires).
Admission is free and all are welcome.

I hope you can attend and experience the joy of healing through dance.

Yours truly,
Carol Crawford Smith

----- Note from Brian Murphy -----

I need this. Many others have been asking about it. In the spirit of
dance and the celebration of life, SalsaTech is proud to announce the
final Wednesday Night Salsa Massive of the semester [tonight, Wednesday
the 25th.] To pay homage to a few of the departed, Reema Samaha and
Matthew La Porte, beginning at 10 PM the first salsa song will be
dedicated in their loving memory, as we will observe restraint and
refrain from dancing. However, following the tribute the dance floor
will be open to all, and I, as is the case of many others I have spoken
with, will embark on a therapeutic journey through the halls of love,
laughter, and dance. [Tonight] we celebrate life.
